I was just reminded this morning while booting up my computer before work it’s been a year since my pet visited. In the time she was here, we were able to have a couple of good sessions, and did some sightseeing around the area, to balance out the visit so it wasn’t just all play all the time.
There had been some discussion about where we were going to do our play sessions. We had thought about possibly doing it partially at her hotel, and partially here at the house, which didn’t necessarily sit too well with my wife. Just in case there was some issue where the people in the next room (on either side) heard something and knee-jerked by calling the police to investigate, which wouldn’t be a good thing. Doing it at the house, with 2-foot thick fieldstone walls in the basement would certainly be safer.
We definitely made some good inroads in making the basement a suitable play space, but honestly, there really isn’t a lot of room for what we might wish to do. Too, I just have the spanking bench, so that limits us in a lot of things that we might like to do, but can’t because we’re missing out on either a convenient place to stand, or a place where she isn’t necessarily draped, or placed in a position where she’s not comfortable. Finally, we have an queen sized inflatable mattress, but when it rests on the floor, it’s not either easy to get on (or off) and because it’s filled with air, it’s cold.
Too, the basement itself is rather inhospitable because duh, it’s a basement that’s unfinished. And, it has fieldstone walls, so it’s not going to accept heat all that well, though I’m not positive cinderblock would be much of an improvement, even if there were treatments on the walls to make it more modern, as it were. But, it’s what we got. So we make the most of it.
But, getting back to the topic, it’s been a year since we’ve been together. We have plans for 2024, and we’ve even set aside the necessary funds to make it so that we’re both paying for her visit, which will definitely help us both in the long run. At least we’re not in the middle of a pandemic again and waiting three years before we are able to renew our in-person interactions. That’s a plus.
