Kidney stones suck. There, I said it.
I’ve been dealing with kidney stones for the past half year and it’s causing a lot of uproar in my BDSM life. Last year I was able to see my pet twice, after being separated for a couple of years due to COVID and other issues. We’d hoped to be over that particular hump, but with the kidney stones being an ongoing issue, it has thrown a big ‘ol wrench into our travel and meeting plans. Thus, BDSM has been put on the back burner for the time being. No one is happy about it, but we agreed that my health comes first.
In the meantime, we’ve been keeping in touch in the usual ways: phone, text, email occasionally, video chats, and so on. We discuss future plans, talk about what we’d like to do when she’s able to visit (due to multiple issues at present, I’m unable to travel to her), and so on. It can be a bit maddening to be separated by about six hours of driving, yet we cannot bridge that gap due to the current situation.
At the very least I’m getting the kidney stones attended to. Though that in and of itself is taking some time. I’ve had one lithotripsy procedure already this past July, and had another scheduled for yesterday morning, but as fate would have it, due to an emergency (not on my end) it had to be postponed. Not sure for how long, but I hope it can be taken care of by the end of the year. [Short update – I was able to get the procedure rescheduled for 12/10 so it’s going to be taken care of by the end of the year after all. Thank goodness!]
Since we’re now well into the holiday season (and it snowed this morning), it’s now going to be 2025 before I and the pet are going to be able to see one another in person. We’re determined that this isn’t going to be like COVID and end up being a multi-year separation. Keeping the fingers well and truly crossed, there aren’t any more hiccups in the offing. Til the next time.
fingers crossed!! and toes and rabbit ears! 😉
